for those of you who just want to be closer to home with the performing arts scene here. Have a looksie!!! They are looking for people to hire on board. THere are two positions open one as  PR Executive and another as a Box Office Staff. Below are the details.

Urgent Job Opening: PR Executive

The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac), Malaysia’s fully integrated performing arts centre dedicated to the advancement of the performing arts in the country, seeks a highly motivated and suitably qualified individual for the following position:

PR EXECUTIVE

Primary job function: To help publicise KLPac productions and assist in promoting KLPac as a whole

Job scope:

- Build strong contacts with media

- Collate and disseminate publicity material

- Draft press releases

- Help devise and implement publicity campaigns

- Help update KLPac website

- Maintain KLPac’s customer database

Young gradutes with excellent communication and people skills are encouraged to apply. An interest in the arts and immediate availability is an advantage.

BOX OFFICE STAFF

Primary job function: to handle ticket sales and enquiries on shows and events at KLPac

Requirements:

- Minimum SPM

- Good organisational and interpersonal skills

- Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Experience in customer service and an interest in the arts would be an advantage

The Oral Stage is looking for Writers

You know whats the problem with theatre here in Malaysia? There are not enough good scripts? Or even worse there not enough writers out there. So for those who are keen on giving a go at scriptwriting. Take a look at this.

The Oral Stage (TOS) needs writers and directors
The Oral Stage (TOS) will be staging a series of short plays in a single production, slated for July/August. We’re looking for people who are interested in writing a short play (or several, if you’re up for it) of about 20 minutes, as well as people who are interested in directing a short play.

This production falls under TOS’ Quikstage division, which focuses on nurturing new talents, providing a space for people to have their first taste of the performing arts and for more experienced practitioners to gain further experience and to try different things.

Interviews for the positions will be held on Sat 19th and Sun 20th Apr. Please e-mail people@theoralstage.com ASAP to book your slot. Deadline for registration is Fri 18th Apr at 11.59pm.
